Medical Observer Wins Asian Award for Editorial Excellence

In what proved to be a David-beats-Goliath case for Philippine media, Medical Observer became the first Philippine publication to be recognized by the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) in its annual Awards for Editorial Excellence held June 6 at the American Club, Hong Kong.

Unusual Pains

There's pain caused by diseases or physical injury, then there's psychic pain. Most of the time they come together, and going through them is its own kind of hell. How much torment pain causes only those who go through it know. That's why it's difficult for people whose only basis for pain is the occasional cut or abrasion to understand what pain actually is-that it's much more than an annoyance. And pain, if extreme, can be lethal.

It's hard enough for pain-free people to understand the extent of pain where the damage is physically visible; what more those that arise from seemingly normal and harmless activities?

Medical Observer looks into the more unusual varieties of pain.
