The Farm at San Benito is one of the few hard-core medical spas, alternative medical and holistic health resorts in the world. The place boasts of fully integrated medical facilities specializing in alternative, non-Western diagnostics, and focuses on the treatment of degenerative acute and chronic diseases.

While most health professionals are afraid and cautious to venture from the practice of conventional medicine to natural healing methods, Dr. Jeanette Belen-Rosales embraced the holistic program to healing with pride.

Rosales, who has been with The Farm for the past two years, said: "My mind was completely closed to natural medicine before…I've tried it for myself and I've seen the improvement on my health by just eating the food that The Farm is offering…I did a detox and I felt really clean."

HOLISTIC HEALING

The Farm, being a health and wellness resort, gives a jumpstart to healthy living through purification, rejuvenation, and relaxation. They offer two programs: one is a wellness package and the other is concerned with detoxification. Guests who are interested to enter into either of the programs are given proper orientation where expectations and outcomes are discussed. The detox program includes spiritual development, physical detox, informative sessions, lifestyle coaching, and nutritional support.

Rosales identified the benefits of the detox program.

  • cleans digestive tract

  • purifies the liver

  • enhances mental clarity

  • improves the metabolic functions of the body

  • allows better circulation

  • initiates a healthier lifestyle

If someone goes to The Farm with no apparent health challenges, detox will set the stage for healing, "by allowing yourself to be rejuvenated and regenerated."

Spiritual-development classes, said Rosales, "give clients guided meditation and yoga every morning." Lifestyle coaching, meanwhile, accelerates learning, improves the performance of tasks, and enhances the quality of life.

Informative sessions include lectures and workshops, film showing, and a food-preparation class for the guests.

Doctors at The Farm will help identify the patient's present health condition at the cellular level. Physical detox includes medical consultation and live-blood-cell analysis through dark-field microscopy. This technique provides an assessment of one's nutritional and digestive needs to enhance one's overall health.

COLON DETOX

The colon-detoxification therapy is a program that aims to flush out of the entire body toxins that have accumulated over years of unhealthy diet and lifestyle. Rosales said that every day, one person dies from colon cancer while two patients progress to the advanced stage. The colon, being the waste basket of the human body, suffers the most among all vital organs. Rosales said that it is not too late for people who are stuck in unhealthy diet and lifestyle choices to start considering the benefits of colon detox.

Colon detoxification can remove retained gas, impacted feces, disease-causing bacteria, layers of hardened mucosa, and parasites. It can also correct bowel conditions such as diverticulosis by reestablishing correct bowel habits. It is also the most effective way of keeping the colon as well as other vital organs clean, the immune system functioning more efficiently, and the body in "dynamic health."

Meanwhile, the colon enema or colema is a more gentle procedure, and according to Rosales, "it's really the old-style labatiba, but it's done more modern." The colonics, in contrast, is the one that makes use of a machine and a viewing tube wherein one can see what comes out.

Psychoemotional therapy is also offered as part of the detox program. The Farm has been designed to provide the ultimate environment for psychoemotional healing. It aims to help patients open the path to inner peace and creativity.

Rosales added that The Farm's detox program focuses on the mind, body, and spirit. It involves in-depth cleansing, reaches the cellular level, and explores root causes.

HOW TO EAT

At The Farm, a primarily raw, plant-based diet lies at the heart of the wellness and detoxification philosophy. Founder Eckard Rempe stressed that natural or raw foods offer the secret to longevity and vitality. Eighty-five percent of the foods served at The Farm are raw and in their unadulterated state. This preserves the enzymes that provide the body with energy required in bodily functions.

Rempe pointed out that The Farm was built for one reason: "To help individuals regain and maintain their birthright of good health through a proactive approach."

The Healthy Oil

Virgin coconut oil (VCNO) is believed to be the healthiest and most versatile of all vegetable oils. It is composed of medium- and short-chain fatty acids (mcfa) or triglycerides, which go straight to the liver through the portal vein and are transformed instantly into energy. This goes to say that VCNO does not produce fat.

VCNO is very stable and does not oxidize easily. Its high vitamin-E content makes it an ideal skin moisturizer and vitalizer. Because of its versatility, many health and beauty products have already been manufactured using VCNO as base.

The San Benito Virgin Oil is a 100-percent natural, chemical-free oil that is cold-pressed from fresh coconuts. The oil produced at The Farm is nonhydrogenated, nonrefined, nonbleached, and nondeodorized. It is used to prepare the food served to the guests, as well as the body-care products.

Pure VCNO may also be taken as dietary supplement. Three tablespoonsful of it each day help protect the body against heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and other degenerative conditions. Studies show that its high lauric-acid content helps ward off and even destroy viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens. VCNO can also help the body actively build its immune system.

    VCNO also:

  • Helps prevent fungal infections

  • Promotes bowel movements

  • Reduces risk of atherosclerosis and related illnesses

  • Helps eliminate pinworms

  • Finds use in cancer therapy

  • Helps fight gallbladder disease

  • Improves digestion and provides quick energy

  • Helps prevent osteoporosis

  • Helps fight viruses that cause the flu, herpes, and hiv/aids

  • Helps prevent dandruff and relieve symptoms of psoriasis, as well as all kinds of skin itchiness/skin allergies

  • Relieves stress on pancreas and enzyme systems of the body

VCNO should exude the natural aroma of coconut milk, and at first glance should be water clear. Its taste should be sweet, thick, and smooth. VCNO is used in hospitals worldwide to treat malabsorption and digestive disorders. It is also commonly given to infants and children who have problems digesting other fats. Miles Dumalagan
