Arixtra Gets EC Go-Ahead
Sanofi-Synthelabo and Organon announced that fondaparinux sodium (Arixtra) has
received marketing approval from the European Commission for "prevention of
venous thromboembolic events (VTE) in patients undergoing major orthopedic
surgery of the lower limbs such as hip fracture, major knee or hip fracture,
major knee or hip replacement surgery."
